OEM Key: This type of key is generally tied to the original device/motherboard. After reinstalling or formatting Windows on the same device, it may reactivate automatically. However, if the motherboard or other major hardware is changed or upgraded, activation on the modified system is not guaranteed, and a new license may be required.
Retail Key: A Retail key provides more flexibility and may be associated with a Microsoft account. For reactivation after reinstalling Windows, the same PC/device and compatible hardware configuration should be maintained, and the Microsoft account previously associated with the digital license should remain signed in. Activation on a different PC or after significant hardware changes is not guaranteed.
⚠️ Important: We guarantee/support activation only on the same PC and hardware configuration on which the key was originally activated. Any motherboard replacement, major hardware change, transfer to another PC, or use on a different device is at the customer's own risk and may require reactivation or a new license.
